Our Staff

Joy Kipp, LSW has been licensed in MN and ND since 1993. Joy's background consists of 20 years of experience in the human service and business management field which involved crisis intervention, conflict resolution and business counseling with clients. She served three years as an AmeriCorps*VISTA member in the Entrepreneurship for Single Parents & Minorities (ESPM) program. While there she facilitated and taught classes, acquired program funding and counseled clients with their businesses. From 1996-1999 she was ESPM's State Program Director through the AmeriCorps*VISTA program and supervised and set-up ESPM programs in eight sites throughout the state of ND along with running her own program in Fargo, ND In 1998 she became the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Project Coordinator and Case Manager for Fargo Housing & Redevelopment Authority's (FHRA) Section-8 program. From 1999-2003 she was the AmeriCorps*VISTA supervisor for several other human service organizations.

Since 1999, she was also the Program Manager for the newly acquired Self-Sufficiency Program because she saw the need for a more comprehensive training program for the clients she served. The programs she created (along with the help of the community) and managed were Clothing & Connections (C&C), "First Impression," "Temporary Work Training" (now Progressive Office Experience ) and "Career Essentials." The training sessions are geared for individuals wanting to increase their chance of being hired at an interview and then the big job of remaining hired along with increasing their economic conditions and improving the quality of their lives.

In 1993 NAHRO awarded the Fargo Housing Authority for the direct client and resident services for the Entrepreneurship for Single Parents and Minorities Program which Joy coordinated. The Chamber of Commerce awarded Joy with the "1995 Minority Advocate of the Year for the State of ND." In 1999 she was awarded the "Welfare to Work SBA Associate of the Year." She was also awarded "YWCA Friends of 2000."  In 2010 she was awarded the "Delmar G. Corrick Spirit and Vision Award."

Joy has lived in ND for 22 years and is a former native of Minnesota. She was a singles leader in her church for 10 years helping singles through hard times in their lives. Her main passion is spending time with her family, which includes ten grand-children, and if she has time after that she loves reading and watching movies.

Dee Moser - Dee was born and raised on a farm near Gackle, North Dakota.      She graduated from Gackle High School where a special teacher so impressed her, that she wanted to become a teacher, too. Her plans to go to teacher’s college after that were interrupted by an invitation from the School Board to teach right away. She accepted the position and taught for 4 years. She has held varied job positions, including, working as a supervisor in Jamestown, a supervisor at Northwestern Bell in Grand Forks, a substitute assistant at the Library in Fargo, a clerical assistant with the Fargo Schools, as needed, a clerical worker at Lutheran Health Systems; and she is now currently the “Everybody Needs Me!” person in the office of Self-Sufficiency Center as Joy Kipp’s assistant.

Dee married and has three children. She currently has six grand-children, which include a set of twins (a family tradition!). She lives in Fargo. She enjoys doing volunteer work for the Red Cross, the Big Brother program and her church.

Dee’s special interests include: reading, enjoying her grand-children, collecting coffee mugs and butterfly things and doing craft projects.
